    2. Mrs. Osroe Gerald Causey, 94, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Loris Extended Care Center after an illness. Mrs. Causey was born August 1, 1915 in Horry County, a daughter of the late William Henry Gerald and the late Ollie Gilmore Gerald. She was a retired farmer and had retired from the Horry County Schools Food Services. Mrs. Causey, know throughout her community for her famous cooking, was also know for her service to her community, serving as a longtime pole worker with the Horry County Election Commission. She was a member of Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities until Sunday, May 30, 2010. These capacities included past President of the WMU, Baptist Women's Director, Sunbeam Band Director in 1941 and longtime member of the church choir. Surviving Mrs. Causey are a sister, Delessie C. Tyler of Loris; a brother, Bernice Gerald of Tabor City, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Causey was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Onzie L. Causey; two brothers, Audie Gerald and Herman Gerald; and four sisters, Letha G. Tyler, Alberta G. Causey, Velma G. Lewis and Ladena G. Dorsey. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon, July 6, 2010, from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. in the Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church sanctuary, with the Rev. Rocky Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church Building Fund, 937 Green Sea Rd., Loris, SC 29569. Published in the Sun News 5 July 2010
