Martha "Elwood" Rabon Lambert, age 80, died Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Conway Medical Center. Born December 23, 1929 in Aynor, S.C., Mrs. Lambert was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Fannie Rabon; her husband, Willie "Jay" Lambert; and a great-niece, Cristin Nichole Daniels. Elwood will be missed by her family, friends, neighbors, church family and anyone that had the privilege of knowing this special woman of God. She has a big family. God and family were the center of her life. She exemplified at all times that God was first in her life and her family came a close second. Elwood's love for her family radiated on her face and in her spirit. Her love was intoxicating and everyone that felt her love knew what a life-changing experience that was. All the saints in heaven are rejoicing that our special angel has now entered into the pearly gates. Mrs. Lambert is survived by her son, Clemson "Pete" Collins of Aynor, S.C.; a sister, Elise Rabon Dix and husband, Cecil, of Aynor, S.C.; a brother, Jimmy Rabon and wife, Frances Long Rabon, of Conway; a nephew, Terry Dix of Charlotte, N.C.; six nieces, Cherri Dix of Myrtle Beach, SC, Tanya Dix Merritt of Conway, SC, Sheila Rabon Daniels of Conway, SC, Cristal Rabon Causey of Conway, S.C., Natalie Rabon Hunter of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Stephanie Rabon of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; multiple great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Revisky and Matthew Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.
