Mrs. Irene Lewis Williams, age 89, died Thursday morning, July 29, 2010 at Loris Community Hospital following an illness. Born July 12, 1921 in Loris, SC she was the daughter of Mr. Fernnie Lewis and Mrs. Janie Elliott Lewis. Mrs. Williams retired after forty-three years with Horry County Food Services and she was a longtime member of Loris First Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who will always be remembered for her wonderful cooking. Survivors include her son: Ernest Williams and wife, Betty of North Charleston, SC; her daughter: Alice Gerald and husband, L.C. of Myrtle Beach, SC; her son-in-law: Billy Blackburn of Loris, SC; daughter-in-law: Judy Williams; five grandchildren: Cindy Williams Rhodes, Kim Williams Epps, Jennifer Williams, Eddy Blackburn and Chad Gerald; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one niece and two nephews. Mrs. Williams was predeceased by her parents, her husband: Edward Lee Williams; son: John B. Williams; daughter: Grace Blackburn; brother: Troy Lewis; and granddaughter: Julie Williams. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Loris First Baptist Church with committal services following at Twin City Memorial Gardens. Dr. Larry Turner and Reverend David Watts will officiate services. Visitation will be Saturday July 31, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hardwick Funeral Home.
