Geneva Fullwood Ammons, age 92, wife of the late John Vollie "J.V." Ammons, died Thursday, July 15, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Ammons was a daughter of the late Charles Mack and Daisy Turbeville Fullwood. She was a 1937 graduate of Socastee High School and Socastee High School basketball star. Mrs. Ammons was the owner of Ammon's Mobile Home Park for over 40 years. She was an employee of Oceanview Memorial Hospital in Myrtle Beach for 18 years and Aunt Maude's Country Kitchen. Mrs. Ammons was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The family would like to thank the many nurses and physicians in the area who have cared for our Mama over the years, especially Heartleand Hospice and two wonderful caregivers for more than two and a half years, Bertha Jones of Conway and Petrina Buffkin of Aynor. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Larue Ammons. Surviving are two sons, John Ray Ammons (Kristy) and James "Butch" Ammons (Sandi) all of Socastee; one daughter, Deborah Ammons Wolfe (Mark) of Socastee; 10 grandchildren, Ashlee Rogers (Brian), Aimee Gause (Robert), Renee Killian (Tom), Suzie Fisher, Kristin Smith, Michael Manley (Vicki), Jason Carr, Brent Carr, Bridgete Jensen (Jeremy), and Megan Morgan; 14 great-grandchildren, Colin Manley, Grayson Manley, Emma Carr, Katelynn Pryor, Jeffrey Jensen, Summer Jensen, Britton Alvarez, Kayleigh Rogers, Kasey Rogers, Gabe Smith, Kyle Fisher, Bradley Fisher, Lailah Gause and Ty Gause; one sister, Dot Rabon of Myrtle Beach. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, with Rev. Hobert Johnson and Rev. Micah Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
