Sarah Lee Vaught, age 94, widow of the late Ernest Vaught, of the Hickory Grove Community, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Marion Nursing Center. Mrs. Vaught was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Asa Carl Tucker and Dorothy Floyd Gore. She loved Jesus and her family. Mrs. Vaught was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Buena Vista Brawner and Helen Gore Lathem; two brothers, Carl Gore and Marion Gore. Surviving are three daughters, Brenda Vaught of Marion, Freda Hardee and husband Jerry of Conway, and Rhonda McDowell and husband Douglas of Conway; two sons, Robin Vaught and wife Kim of Forestbrook, Rusty Vaught and wife Sharon of Conway; two sister-in-laws, Ann Gore and Jane Gore; ten grandchildren, Felecia Maresh, Jimmy McDowell, Reid McDowell, Logan Foley, William Vaught, Wendy Lee, Rochelle Adams, Joel Vaught, Shana Vaught, and Nick Barnhill; six great-grandchildren, Jacob and Adam Maresh, Jaymie, Jay and Raycie McDowell, River Monroe Lee. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
