    1. [SCHORRY] John Herman Brinson
    2. John Herman Brinson, age 66, of Holly Hill Road, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 at his residence following an illness. Mr. Brinson was born August 18, 1943 in Loris, a son of the late John Austin Brinson and the late Alberta Hardee Brinson. He was retired from the South Carolina Department of Transportation, an avid fisherman and hunter, and a member and Past Master of the Tabor City Masonic Lodge #563 A.F&A.M. Mr. Brinson was a faithful member of the Macedonia Baptist Church where he served on various committees, was a former Sunday School teacher, a former Deacon serving two terms, a member of the choir, and the former Sunday School Superintendent. He was a beloved "Pa-Pa" to his two grandchildren and was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Joseph Reaves. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary Holmes Brinson of the home, one son, John Gary Brinson and his wife, Rhonda of Loris, his mother-in-law, Josie Holmes of Loris, two sisters, Shelby Reaves of Loris and Lenell Porter and her husband, Joseph of Monroe, NC; two brothers, Hoyt Brinson and his wife, Paulette of Loris, and Woody Brinson and his wife, Becky of Florence; a brother-in-law, Johnny Holmes and his wife, Teresa of Boiling Springs, NC; two grandchildren, Alex Kindale Brinson and Victoria Kaitlyn Brinson, both of Loris; three nieces and three nephews, Jessica Durant and her husband, Chris, Jeannie Arrington and her husband, Glen, Cindy Brinson, Brent Brinson and his wife, Kelly, Stephen Porter and his wife, Bethany, and Joe Howard Porter; several great -nieces, and one great-nephew. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Loris. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2010 from the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Thompson and Rev. Wendell Ray officiating.
