Mr. Samuel Aubrey Elliott, 86, passed away Friday, June 18, 2010, at Loris Community Hospital. Aubrey was born November 14, 1923, in Aynor, SC, a son of the late Samuel Porter and Georgianna Sarvis Elliott. He was predeceased by four brothers, Bernie, Ernest, Wallace, and Ed Elliott; and by his sister, Bertie Frye. Aubrey retired from the United States Postal Service after thirty years of service. He was a member and Past President of the Surf Golf and Beach Club where he served on the board of directors for twenty-nine years. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and served his country during World War II in the US Army. Survivors include, Norma Suggs of North Myrtle Beach, SC; his daughter, Marian E. Lewis; a granddaughter, Aubrey L. Bishop and her husband, Cameron, a grandson, Jon T. Lewis and his wife, Rachel, and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Bishop, all of Macon, Ga. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 21st, 2010, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach, with his nephews, Gene and Glen Elliott officiating. Entombment will follow at Southeastern Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sea Coast Medical Center Building Fund, 4000 Hwy. 9, Little River, SC 29566.
