H. Lloyd Cox, Sr., age 75, of Peachtree Road, went home to be with the Lord after a long illness on Monday, June 21, 2010 at his home. Lloyd was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and man of God. Knowing Lloyd was like catching a glimpse of the face of God. He was a blessing to all who knew him, and gave more in life than he ever received. Lloyd will be missed by many friends and family. He was born in Horry County, a son of the late Johnnie H. Cox and Lucille Hamilton Cox. Lloyd was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Cox attended Lakewood Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a Line member of the Master Mason Lodge #353, and a member of Knight Templar 32nd Degree. Surviving are his wife, Marietta Ward Cox of Myrtle Beach; one son, Harold L. "Rusty" Cox, Jr. and wife Vicky of Myrtle Beach; two grandchildren, Kristine Cox and Jeret L. Cox; one grandson, Noa Baldanado; two step-sons, Rodney Jackson of Conway and Steve Jackson of Murrells Inlet. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Rev. Gene Norris and Chaplin Kitty Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
