First let me say I have two certificates relating to Sarah, with what you have told me and a quick phone call to my Aunt in Loris, I had a revelation that the information I had understood to be right was wrong. My great grandfather's death cert lists Sarah Elizabeth Carrell as his mother and Sam Green Tyler as his father. What I believed to be my great great grandmother's, Sarah, death certificate, is the Sarah you wrote to me about. I believed my father when he said both certs were written by his father, Jasper Zeno Tyler so I never checked any further, just accepted that it was right. The Sarah I am looking for was born in 1844/45 and died in 1913. I knew the dates were wrong on the headstone according to the cert, so I was looking for another document to confirm it one way or another. I believe that SC did not keep death certs before 1915 but I'll find confirmation one way or another!! Thanks again for answering me so soon.
