He thought that I should also post it here. I might add that my Monroe Co, AL Middletons came from Marion Co, SC, but of course that doesn't mean that my Joel Anderson was from there. The name Joel Anderson does not seem to be an uncommon combination. Thus far, I am not on any of the SC lists. - Mary Alice Anyway here is the post: >>> "Yes, my Andersons came from South Carolina to Alabama, but only the Lord knows from where. My gr-gr-grandfather, Joel Anderson, was b.ca 1809/10 in SC. He was m. 1 Aug 1838 in Monroe Co, Alabama to Jane Middleton. My gr-grandfather, Manning, C.R., or Christopher Emanuel [take your pick] was the 2nd child and oldest son. After the war [War Between the States] he was listed with his widowed mother in 1870 census. Joel had died 28 Feb 1870. My gr-grandfather went to northeast Texas shortly thereafter. My grandfather was born there in 1875, and my mother in 1900. This is probably more than you wanted to know, but so be it." ==== ANDERSON Mailing List ==== Try this link to Colonial Massachusetts and Maine Anderson Families
