I'm hoping somebody can help me on my brick wall. On the 1860 census you'll find D. M. Gilmore (39) along with his family, Elizabeth A.(27), Louisa(6), Benjamin (3), and William P (1). D. M. was known as Miles. At some point after the 1860 census, he disappeared due to an altercation concerning a "gander pull". He was accused of cheating and might have cut the accuser. D. M. fled thinking the accuser was dead and never came back or contacted his family. On Benjamins death certificate, his mother Elizabeth's maiden name is written as Betsy Barker. Are any of you researching the Barkers in the Daisy area? Does any of this look familiar to any of you? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, Sonja
