From the Florence Morning News paper, Sunday, 7-25 GALIVANTS FERRY, Joyce Ann Lovell Thompkins, 50, of Galivants Ferry died Friday, July 23, 1999, at here residence following an illness. Mrs. Thompkins was born in Conway, a daughter of Paul and Helen Todd Lovell. She was a member of Evergreen Freewill Baptist Chuch. Surviving in addition to her parents of Hemingway, SC, are here husband, Alfred Thompkins of Galivants Ferry; two daughters, Wendy McCracken of Galivants Ferry and Barbara Stalvey if Conway; two sisters, Judy Moon and Dorothy Bass, both of Hemingway;and four grandchildren, Alfred and Cody McCracken and Bobby and Will Stalvey. Funeral services will be a 4 p.m. Monday, July 26 at Evergreen Freewill Baptist church , burial will follow in Aynor cemetery, directed by Goldfinch funeral home, Conway chapel.
