Many felt that it was their true country and they paid dearly for their allegiance. I want the website to really "shine". I have a bunch of "new" stuff ordered from the National Archives which will enable me to provide a Compiled Service Record for every member of the 26th and predecessor units, as well as an Index to every soldier (as close as the archive records permit) that served in a SC unit, plus tons of other goodies already in-hand. What I am looking for is leads or tips as to the whereabouts of the minutes and records of the "Confederate Veterans Association of Horry County"? I think that they met on a regular basis from about 1889-1912. In 1902, Capt. B.L. Beatty of the 26th SC, whom resided in and is buried in Georgetown, was their Chairman or Commander. Please ask around and search your memories to see if you can come up with any help for the project. I will be contacting Ben Burroughs, Henry Lee Buck IV (yes the one that is living), Randolph Wilson the Commander of the Litchfield SCV Camp for Horry County, and Dennis Todd, SCV South Carolina historian. Thank you-----Julian ==== SCHORRY Mailing List ==== Web Sites of Horry County Listmembers. 1. Jim Farmer farmer@visa.com http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/jotajota/ 2.
