Glenda, Thanks for rechecking the DOB for Sarah Jane Barnhill shown on the death certificate. I'm not sure of where my father came by the date of 5 Jan 1852. Maybe he got it from the gravestone. My grandfather was Nathan Hugee Lewis, B 24 Aug 1884 in Aynor, SC, D 26 Aug 1942 in Lumberton, NC. He married Essie Adele Capps Nov 1907. Nathan was a son of William M. Lewis ( 31 Jan 1855 - 24 Jun 1924) and Sarah Jane Barnhill (5 Jan or Feb 1852 - 13 Jun 1924). I notice that there is also a one day discrepancy in William's date of death between the gravestone inscription and the date from the death certificate. William was a son of N. Hugh G. Lewis and Mary A. (or maybe J.) UNKNOWN. Note the spelling of my grandfather's middle name and that of his grandfather. Clearly he was named after his grandfather but something got lost along the way. My father said that's the spelling for his dad's name and that everyone called him "Gee". Robert E. Lewis
