My primary family surnames from the Horry / Georgetown County area are Holmes, Beaty, Carteret, Cooper, Horry, Prince, Cox, Burroughs and there are a few more. My grandmother, Frances Lucine Holmes was a Holmes who was born in Moultrie, GA. Her grandfather packed up the plantation so to speak and moved to Moultrie, GA aroud the turn of the century with some other Horry Co. families. The old homestead in Horry Co. was known as Holmesville and it was between Murrells Inlet and Conway. The family was in the pitch and turpentine business. James Holmes is as far back as I have but would love to have more. I have a lot of children and siblings of these folks as well.
