I recently received a copy of portions to the South Carolina Department of Archives and History Alphabetical Index and am not sure I understand what it is telling me. Can any one help? (1) How do you decipher the Entry Numbers? (2) On page 8336 the entry under: GRAHAM, E. F. is "Graham, James M., plat for 45 acres in All Saints Parish, Horry district, surveyed by James Beaty...date 1855/06/19" I can understand my gg-grandfather getting a plat for land at 17 (he was listed as 12yo on the 1850 census) but what does E. F. Graham have do do with it, much less who was E. F. Graham? Also under E. F. Graham is an entry for Isaac G. Long, plat for 833 acres on Kings Town Lake Swamp surveyed by James A. Thompson. I'm not sure I see a connection here. Thanks Dow Graham
