George W. Thompkins (Uncle George) News and Courier January 7, 1964 George W. Thompkins (Uncle George), 100 died Jan. 6, 1964. He was the son of the late Cornelius Thompkins and Mrs. Emma Allen Thompkins of the Juniper Bay section of Horry County where he was born and worked as a farmer. For the past eight years, he was the oldest member and an honorary deacon of the Juniper Bay Baptist Church. Surviving from his first marriage to the late Mrs. Fannie Sellers Thompkins who died in 1925 is a son Harmon K. Thompkins, Myrtle Beach and a daughter Mrs. Belle Creel, Myrtle Beach. Also surviving are a sister Mrs. Nolie Capps of Chicago, 11 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and his 14 great great grandchildren. He second wife, the late Mrs. Caroline Sellers Thompkins died in 1956.
