My grandmother was Florie Sarvis. d/o Patrick Corneilius Sarvis,s/o John N. Sarvis s/o Samuel Sarvis s/o Samuel Sarvis. There appear to be 2 sarvis lines in Horry co. The most documented is John Sarvis jr's line. My Samuel line is not as documented. Possibility ? Samuel and John jr were brothers . John sr. came from Ireland prior to 1751 , the year John jr. was born. Let me know if anything looks familiar. Re. Samuel Sarvis, he was an officer in the 26th SCV Inf Regt and there is some info on him in several issues of the Independent Republic Quarterly published by the Horry County Hist Society. Je received a confed pension and his pension is on file at the SC Dept of Archives and History in Columbia.
