Hi Mark, There was a discussion on the list some time ago regarding this Singleton line. Apparently some felt there was a generation missing between Richard Singleton & Samuel Grier Singleton. It was thought that John Singleton (b. abt. 1778 - 6/3/1825) who married Hannah Clark (b. ? - 11/15/1829) was the son of Richard Singleton, and the father of Samuel Grier Singleton. Perhaps someone on the list will remember in more detail. At any rate, a couple of us Singleton researchers had questions about this particular line. The 1860 & 1870 Horry Co. census schedules listed Prudence Singleton (in 1860) as head of household; and then Prudence Register (in 1870) as head of household; both with some of the same children you listed also listed with her. Do you know if this Prudence Singleton remarried to a Register? And if so, to which one? I have Oliver Hazzard Perry Singleton, Sr.wife's maiden name as Prudence Johnston / Johnson.
