i note the remark about Colquitt County, Georgia and not much geneological research there. A descendant of Horry County families, Darling Creed, is credited with the naming of the County seat "Moultrie" The Ellen Payne Odom Geneological Library is located in Moultrie and is very active producing, among other things a monthly newsletter that is so voluminous I can never finish it. also the library serves as a repository for family histories.
