Julian: Would you look up Robert Boyd for me? I've had a hard time with this because The Roster of Confederate Soldiers 1861-1865. Vol. II shows that there were six Robert Boyds who served from SC. My Robert Boyd was Robert T. Boyd, Jr., from Horry Co. Before the war he lived in Horry, and after the war (in 1870) he lived in Shallotte Township in Brunswick Co., NC, before moving back to Horry Co. He was born about 1835 and died 1914 in Loris, Horry Co., SC. His wife was Sarah E. Gore. I have narrowed the Robert Boyds down to which one I think he was. There was a Robert Boyd who served in the 23rd SC Regiment, Co. A, C (probably not Sgt. Robert A. Boyd in Co. F). I have read that this regiment, known as Hatch's Coast Rangers, was made up of men from Horry, Georgetown, Charleston and Colleton Counties. I, of course, don't know anything for sure. This is just my best guess. Thank you so very much for the help. Jan
