February 8, 2000 Dear Clarke: Thank you for your response. I will get my copy of "The Beatys of Kingston" out and look for the citation, could you cite me the page right off, just in case I can't find it? Do you know anything else about Capt. Beaty, such as who inherited his papers? Also, my wife is double-connected to the Beaty family. Her Step-Great-grandmother, Emily Beaty Causey, her Great-Grandfather's Asa Garden Causey's second wife, is cited on page 15 under the 1850 Census Household #962 of Thomas S. Beaty, "Emily 18f". She married Asa in April 1888 and died on march 16, 1923. Her death certificate says that she is buried at Campground Cemetery in Conway and her brother William is there also but alas, no tombstones. We are also looking for more info for her hoping that if we can find her, then we can better document Asa's burial location. Secondly, Timothy Cooper's dad's name was Ezekiel Cooper and if you will check the 1790 or 1800 Horry Census, you will see a female juvenile that is not their mom, Martha Magby, but we believe that to be Asa Garden's mother Lucretia Cooper, the oldest child of Martha and Ezekiel. None of the Coopers can prove or disprove this theory but there is a lot of indirect proof and family legend that tends to point in that direction, we are still looking. Do you know anything about Timothy and his brothers having an older sister? Thanks and I will get back with you with some more info and questions.
