February 13, 2000 Dear Robert: My roster records only show SC troops that have Compiled Service Records on file at the National Archives , Textual Service Branch and their photostatic copies at the SC Dept of Archives in Columbia and most of the SC vets deaths, "Broken Fortunes" by Mr. Randolph Kirkland. I don't have a listing or anything close and including initials in either book for TT. As Horry County is on the border with NC and many of her folks had ties in NC, I'd look in the very fine regt index books for NC. Also, check the HCHS pension index as that will sometimes provide data for a vet that is not available anywhere else, and see if TT got a pension and if so order his papers from the SCDAH. For John, he is cited as J.M. Cannon (with the old timey script and careless clerks many easy to make mistakes were made reading this writing in transcription) died at home of disease on an unspecified date and was a member of both the 10th SCV Inf, probably early on in the War and later in the 26th SCV Inf, Co. "A", which is my main source of research interest as I am compiling data for a website, so please share all the info that you have on John N.. He apparently didn't make it to Appomattox so he died before April 9, 1865. Get his CSR and let me know of how it goes in case I can help further and also please share any family histories etc. that you might have for John and I will put it on my website and also pass it along as updated for Mr. Kirkland's book. Good luck---Julian Nspctr1@aol.com wrote: > Julian, > I have sent for the pension records for one of my ancestors, but I don't > know the unit.
