Hi Julian, I am connected indirectly to J. Benjamin Lewis Beaty. I branched off from his aunt Mary Harriet Beaty (who married Timothy Cooper) and he came from Col. James S. Beaty, Esq. and Mary Frances Congdon. Col. James Beaty and Mary Frances Congdon were my gggg grandparents. James Beaty's parents were John Beaty and Elizabeth Mary Prince. In Edward Stanley Barnhill's book "The Beatys of Kingston" it notes the following for your B.L. Beaty: "married Frances Grissette. He was Captain, 26th SC Reg't., Co. K, CSA and was wounded at Petersburg, 1865". Their child was Nancie (Nannie) Beaty who died unmarried. Julian and Clarke, I am also connected indirectly to this J. Benjamin Lewis Beaty. I am a descendant of J.B.L. Beaty's aunt Rebecca Beaty who married John Baxter Conway. I have J.B.L. Beaty as being the son of James S. Beaty (1804/12-6-1858) and Louisa Pawley Sarvis Beaty (1807/?). Louisa Pawley Sarvis was the daughter of John Sarvis Jr. and Laura Hannah Floyd Sarvis (1778/?). J.B.L. Beaty is buried in the Elmwood Cemetery in Georgetown. I have Mary Frances Congdon as being the granddaughter of Sarah Jane Beaty Norman and the daughter of Charlotte Norman Congdon.
