>From the Loris Scene - Wednesday, March 15, 2000: LORIS - Lennie Edward Gerald, age 70, of the Cane Branch Community died March 9, at the Loris Community Hospital following a sudden illness. Born Oct. 8, 1929 in Loris, Mr. Gerald was the son of the late George Levi Gerald and the late Mary Stella Faulk Gerald. Mr. Gerald was a retired tobacco farmer, Board Member of Horry Electric Cooperative, President of the Horry-Loris Farm Bureau, and former Board Member of the FCX Corporation. Mr. Gerald was also a member of the Cane Branch Baptist Church where he served as Music Director, Deacon, Former Chairman of the Deacons, and Music Director of the Carolina Association. Survivors include his wife: Roberta Harris Gerald of Loris; one son: Marcus Gerald and his wife, Julie, of Loris; one daughter: Wanda Jordan and her husband, Billy, of Loris; one sister: Vettie Gore of Loris; and four grandchildren; Faith Gerald, Lindsey Gerald, Kip Jordan, and Desiree Jordan, all of Loris. Funeral services were held March 11 at the Cane Branch Baptist Church with burial in the Cane Branch Cemetery. The Reverends Alvin Jackson and Bill Williams officiated.
