Hi ya'll, I just got the message below and I'm hoping that someone on the list, probably nearer Conway than I am, can help this lady. I have no idea who this person she mentions is and haven't actually seen that issue of the IRQ. Thanks ya'll. I'm really hoping someone out there can help her. Dianne Subject: Huge favor...,please? (Lookup) Date: Wed, 29 Mar 2000 15:55:25 -0500 From: "Dale Colston" <dcolston@npl.org> To: ladydee@erols.com Dear Ms. Moore: Happy Spring to you and yours... I emailed the HCSC a few weeks ago but to date received no response. Your name was included under "Lookups". Recently I received a death certificate for my ggf, William Henry Kelly. He was born in Georgia in 1869 and died in Georgia in 1928. His mother was listed as "Mattie Doziex". I studied the cert carefully, it is DOZIEX, not DOZIER, as was someone's suggestion. In searching rootsweb.com and ancestry.com, I found no listing for DOZIEX. While using altavista.com, I was led to your Horry County site-- someone named Etrulia P. Doziex submitted the "Will of Arthur Alford", in the Vol. 20 Spring 1986 No.2 issue of the Independent Republic Quarterly. Who is (was) Etrulia Doziex? Can I contact this person? Do you or does the HCSC have any info on the surname DOZIEX? Where did that surname orginate? I thank you in advance and hope to hear from you soon. Please feel free to pass my query on to others. Feel free to make suggestions as well. Sincerely, Ms. Dale Colston ======================= Dale E. Etrulia Dozier is a black lady historian resident from Conway but I don't know if she is still living. If you will send me a private e-mail, I will get you in touch with a Dozier family researcher. Keep in mind that the census takers handwriting wasn't always the best.
