Robert Roach, I'm sorry, but I have nothing on Needham as a surname. I know that there were many men with Needham as a first or second name. Perhaps it came from similar circumstances to those named Lorenzo Dow xxx. Lorenzo Dow was an itinerant preacher who evidently made quite an impression as babies all up and down the eastern coast were named Lorenzo Dow xxx. I'd be interested in hearing if anyone else knows the facts about it.
