    2. Cora Agnes McNeill, 86, of North Charleston, SC, died Friday, June 18, 2010, in a local nursing hospital. Born September 20, 1923 in Conway, SC she was one of 17 children of Pearlie James Jones and Susan Caroline Perritt Jones. She was the widow of Edsel L. McNeill. She was a longtime member of Cherokee Place United Methodist Church. Mrs. McNeill is survived by her daughter, Patricia Taylor of Conway, SC; son, Buddy McNeill and his wife Donna of Ladson, SC; five grandchildren: Jacquelyn Taylor of Conway, SC, Bo Mixson and his wife Marcy of Ladson, SC, Trae McNeill of Ladson, SC, Brett McNeill and his wife Adriana of Goose Creek, SC and Spencer McNeill and his wife Bailey of Ladson, SC; four great-grandchildren: Layne Mixson and Austin Mixson both of Ladson, SC and Taylor McNeill and Dyllan McNeill both of Goose Creek, SC; sisters: Margaret Altman of North Charleston, SC, Sarah Larrimore and Mary Lois Larrimore both of Britton's Neck, SC; brothers, Carlise Jones of Laurinburg, NC and Billy Jones of Aynor, SC.     2. Rosie Mae Watts Benton, age 82, wife of the late John M. Benton, Jr., died Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Conway Manor. Mrs. Benton was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Thomas Franklin and Tersie Naomi Watts Watts. She attended the Prayer Center of Conway. Mrs. Benton retired with AVX with 43 years of service. She loved fishing, and was an avid gardener. Mrs. Benton was preceded in death by one grandson, Samuel Joseph Bratcher and her 1st husband, Jessie Mayo Bessant; four brothers, Ardell Watts, Lloyd Watts, and Hickman Watts, and John Buddy Watts; and one sister, Dollie Mae Watts. Surviving are two sons, Thomas Mayo Bessant of Conway, and Roger Dale Bessant and wife Doris of Conway; two daughters, Linda Gail Bratcher and husband Sammy of Aynor, and Audrey Benton Jordan and husband Richard of Myrtle Beach; seven grandchildren, Harry Bessant,Dale Bessant, Crystal Bratcher, Brandy Jordan Carll, Mark Bessant, Richard Anthony Jordan, Jr., and Marsha Bessant; and 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Watts; four sisters, Veran, Janie, Annie Mae, and Mary Lee.     2. AYNOR - Ida Louisa Alford Hardwick, 94, wife of the late E. James Hardwick, Sr., of Aynor, entered eternal peace on Sunday, June 13, 2010. Mrs. Hardwick was born in Horry County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Ashley Levi and Carrie Page Alford. She was a faithful member of Berea Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Union. Mrs. Hardwick was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, her two sons, William L. (Lephon) Hardwick and E. James (E. J.) Hardwick, Jr., and her son-in-law, Bobby L. Johnson. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Leon J. Alford and Ashley L. Alford, Jr. and her sisters, Froline A. Perritt and Sallie A. Rogers. Mrs. Hardwick loved her God and her family. She enjoyed being outside, whether gathering vegetables from her garden or riding her lawn mower. Her tremendous faith in God sustained her and her family through all the years, turning hardships into blessings. She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her and will be sorely missed. Surviving are her children, L. B. Hardwick (Barbara) of Columbia, SC, Gene A. Hardwick (JoEllen) of Loris, SC, Angie H. Johnson of Galivants Ferry, SC, Harrell W. He was a member of Zion Pentecostal Holiness Church and served as a Sunday School teacher and worked with youth and other functions of the church. He was a graduate of Myrtle Beach High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by New South Lumber Company for 34 years. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to play golf and enjoyed cooking for family and church. He was very strong in his faith and was strong during his health trials. Dr. Holt referred to Richard as his "poster child." He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Rouse Benton; two brothers, Rev. William Glen Benton, Donald Ray Benton; and his grandson, Hunter Lee Benton.     2. PAWLEYS ISLAND -William Eugene Barnhill, Jr., U.S. Army Ret., age, 70, Pawleys Island, died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Mr. Barnhill was born in Conway, a son of the late William Eugene Barnhill, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Wetmore Barnhill. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church ARP in Conway and was a retired as a Major from the U.S. Army with 22 years of service. Among the awards received during his tours in Vietnam were the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Bronze Star. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Tompkins Barnhill of Georgetown, one son, William E. Barnhill, III, and his wife, Elizabeth of Mt. Pleasant, SC, three grandchildren, Mary Beth Barn-hill, William Scott Barnhill and Anna Catherine Barnhill, one brother, John Hall Barnhill and his wife, Caroline of Mt.     2. Charles Floyd of Ransom Canyon, Texas passed away on June 7, 2010. Mr. Floyd was born in Galivants Ferry, S.C. on December 2, 1938, and was the son of Waitus and Esther (Gerrald) Floyd. He attended the Citadel and graduated from Clemson University with a degree in chemical engineering. He was a commissioned Officer in the US Army. Upon graduation, he began employment with Procter and Gamble in their oilseed crushing division. A year later, he was activated as an Army Officer. After his return from the Army, he met and married Jacqueline (Jackie) Frost in Augusta, Ga. He worked for Procter and Gamble for 20 years as a plant manager at several locations; Anderson Clayton as a Manufacturing Manager for their nine processing plants; and for Archer Daniels Midland Company for 20 years, retiring in 2004. For the last five years, he was working as Director of Plant Operations for Carillon Senior LifeCare Community. Charles was a devout Christian and an ordained deacon. He served on the chapel board for the Ransom Canyon Memorial Chapel. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Jacqueline (Jackie) Frost Floyd; daughter, Mary Esther West and husband George West of North Little Rock, Ark.; daughter, Julie Floyd of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two grandchildren, Mary Charles West and Anna Kate West of North Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Hazel Goodale of Germantown, Tenn.; two brother-in-laws, Gene Goodale of Germantown, Tenn. and Travis Smith of Conway, S.C.; one sister-in-law, Mollie Floyd of Gresham, S.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews.     2. Mr. Donnie Evans Gerald, age 80, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Loris Extended Care Facility, following an illness. Mr. Gerald was born April 18, 1930 in Loris, SC to Mr. Dexter Russel Gerald and Mrs. Cora Stevens Gerald. Mr. Gerald was retired tobacco farmer, he retired from Horry County Public Works with twenty-three years of service, and was a member of Cane Branch Baptist Church. Survivors include his two sons: Bruce Gerald and wife, Suprena of Loris, SC and Tony Gerald and wife, Jennifer, of Loris, SC; four grandchildren, one of whom was very special to his heart, Scott Gerald, and one great-grandchild. Mr. Gerald was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Marjorie T. Gerald, and a daughter, Judy Martin. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 11, 2010, at Cane Branch Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband Avery Jackson Strickland and two sisters Sanatha Edwards, and Mildred Fowler; Three Brothers, Thomas Graham, Shelton Graham and James T. Graham. She is survived by One Son, Mitchell L. Strickland and wife Martha of Myrtle Beach, SC. Five Brothers; Eldred Graham of Goldsboro, NC., Devon Graham of Elgin, SC., Harry Graham and wife Debbie of Rock Hill, SC., Donald Graham and wife Libby of Goldsboro, NC. and Michael Graham and wife Wanda of Loris, SC. Bert was born on September 19, 1972 in Loris to Mr. Albert Benjamin "Ben" Todd, Jr. and Mrs. Carolyn Meredith Todd. Bert worked with Horry Telephone Cooperative, he was an avid fisherman and was a member of New Horizon Baptist Worship Center in Tabor City, NC. Bert loved life and people, he was always quick with a smile and loved helping others regardless of what it cost him. He brightened everyday and was simply one of those rare people you meet in life that you just can't help but love. He was the best father, husband, son, brother and friend that you could ever want. He will be deeply missed, Heaven's gain is our loss. We Love You Bert! Mr. Shelley was born in Aynor, SC on December 15, 1921, a son of the late James Wright and Lillian Sanatha Graham Shelley. He was predeceased by his first wife Edna Marjorie Dudley Shelley, a son, Irwin Shelley, his brother JW Shelley, and a sister Iola Frye. Mr. Shelley was a member of Aynor United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Sara Shelley of their home, three sons; James Shelley and wife Mary, Thomas Shelley Jr., and Dudley Shelley and wife Sheryl all of Columbia, three daughters; Frances "Fran" Fields and husband Beddy of St. Matthews, Beverly Arant of Ladson, and Donna Hucks and husband Kenny of Socastee, two brothers; Edison Shelley and wife Barbara of Greenwood, and Carl W.
