Mr. Hearl was born in Horry County, a son of the late William S. and Flory Grace Shakelford Hearl. He enjoyed gardening and animals. Mr. Hearl loved his wife, family, and Braves Baseball. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Aydin Downs; and a sister, Mary Grace Hearl.     2. Ravenel Thomas Gerrald, 78, died Monday, October 25, 2010 at Agape Senior in Conway after an illness. Mr. Gerrald was born January 25, 1932 in Horry County, a son of the late Sam T. and Myrtle G. Gerrald. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Gerrald was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was a Manson and Shriner. Surviving Mr. Gerrald are a sister, Carolyn G. Perritt and her husband, Aubrey, of Aynor; a brother, James C. Gerald and his wife, Betty, of Nichols; and 10 nieces and nephews. Mr. Gerrald was predeceased by his wife, Marvel Floyd Gerrald; three brothers, Vondell Gerrald, Lonnie Gerrald and Harold Gerrald; and three sisters, Hazel Lacome, Joann Dougherty and Marilyn Ressler.     2. Galivants Ferry, SC...John Hoyt Bell III, age 57, husband of Jane Long Bell, of Bell Road passed away October 24, 2010, at Loris Community Hospital surrounded by his family. Mr. Bell was born September 23, 1953 a son of Isla G. Calhoun and the late John H. Bell Jr. He was predeceased by one sister Ann B. Frye. Mr. Bell retired from the SCDOT after 35 years of service and he attended Berea Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are, one son Adam Bell of Loris, one daughter Brandy B. Lewis and her husband Scott of Galivants Ferry, two sisters Lynn B. Phipps of Galivants Ferry, Jayne Johnson and her husband Jerry of Conway, two grandchildren, Gavin Bell and Owen Lewis.     2. Charles Brandon James, age 20, went to meet Jesus on Sunday, October 24, 2010. Brandon was born April 5, 1990 in Conway, S.C. He was a sports spectacular, often competing in track, cross-country, and baseball. His numerous awards and trophies are only outnumbered by the family and friends who loved him dearly. He recently won first place in the Myrtle Beach 5K in his age division. Brandon had been a baseball all-star from an early age. He participated in tryouts with the Atlanta Braves and they continued to monitor his career and considered him a rising star. His friends and teammates nicknamed him "Flash" because of his excellent speed. He enjoyed fishing and was a talented artist. Brandon graduated from Loris High School in 2008 where he played the trumpet in the school band. He was a longtime member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and had recently become a member at Grace Baptist Church of Horry County. Brandon was predeceased by his grandfather, Wade Scott, and his uncle, Jeffrey Gerald. He is survived by his mother, Deana Boyd and her husband, Carroll, of Loris; his brothers, Scott James and Elliott Boyd, both of Loris; his father, Timmy James and his wife, Sandy, of Loris; his brothers, Scott James and Landon Seth James, both of Loris; his sisters, Taylor Brooke Norris and Brandy Alexis James, both of Loris; his grandparents, Ed and Hester James of Loris, Judy and Jimmy Norris of Loris; his grandmother, Wilma Scott of Surfside Beach; his grandparents, Phil and Peggy Archer of Montana and Billy and Earline Boyd of Loris; his aunts and uncles, Barry and Laura Spivey, Tony and Samantha Skipper, Christian and Jennifer Anderson, Missy and Jason McGough, Chris and Nicky Bellamy, Ricky Purgason, Wendell and Wende Boyd, Dale and Elaine Atkinson, and Randall and Ann Phipps; a special friend, Morgan Fowler; several cousins; and many special friends that are too many to mention. Born on February 6, 1964 in Munhall, Pa., he was the son of Charlene Noll Bell and the late Leonard William Bell. Gladys Rhucile Huggins Strickland, 91, a loving mother and the widow of Rufus (Buck) Strickland, was at home with her family when she went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 22, 2010 at 4:08 p.m. She was born on February 25, 1919 in Horry County, daughter of the late George C. and Libby Dew Huggins. She graduated from Floyds High School as class salutatorian in 1936. She retired from Sara Lee Hosiery in Marion, and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and the Church's WMU. She was an avid reader and loved flower gardening, sewing, and cooking. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Strickland; a grandson, Bryan Strickland; a great-granddaughter Melissa Mincey; three brothers, James, Howard, and Herman Huggins; a sister, Mildred Richardson; and three deceased child siblings. She is survived by a son, Roger Wayne (Betty) Strickland of Little River; a daughter, Sallie Lucille Seaboch of Myrtle Beach; three brothers, Larry, Stoney, and J.E. (Carol) Huggins; and a sister, Joan (Carl) Elliott; six grandchildren, Edward Mincey, Sheri Blakley, Randy Strickland, Lori Lee, Summer Shaver, and Linda Bertucci; thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.     2. Samuel William Washington, Jr., 87, of Sherwood Drive died on October 23, 2010. He was born on October 26, 1922 in Conway, S.C., the son of the late Laura Maude Moore and Samuel William Washington, Sr. Sam graduated from Conway High School in 1941. He attended Campbell Junior College for one year prior to transferring to the University of South Carolina where he was in the ROTC Program and was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corp. He graduated in 1945 with a B.A. Degree in Music and was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy. He served in the Pacific during World War II until his discharge in 1946. In 1950 he was recalled into the Navy and served for two years during the Korean War. He was co-founder of Hucks and Washington Furniture Company, which was established in 1946. He became the sole owner in 1968 following the death of his uncle and business partner, Curtis Hucks. Sam was very active in the business until illness caused his retirement earlier this year. Sam was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church, serving several terms as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Angler Sunday School class, a class he taught for many years. He was an active Rotarian for 57 years and served as pianist for the club. He was a past President and a Paul Harris Fellow. Sam was an avid golfer and a charter member of The Conway Golf Club. He was an accomplished pianist and spent many hours playing for his own enjoyment and that of his family. In addition to golf and the piano, other interests and hobbies included reading and travel. Most importantly, his love, devotion and generosity to family, church and community were evident throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Betty Phillips Washington, formerly of Winnsboro, S.C.; two sisters, Frances Washington Weeks and Vera Washington Harrelson; and one brother, Robert L. Washington. Sam was the father of two daughters, Lucile "Lucy" Washington Coleman (Stan) and Anne Moore Washington, both of Charlotte, N.C.; the grandfather of three grandchildren, Charlotte Coleman Crossland (Brian), Meredith Coleman Sizemore (Stephen) and Stanley David Coleman, III. Other survivors include one sister, Martha Anne "Marty" Washington of Florence, S.C. and Athens, Ga.; two sister-in-laws, Ann Taylor Washington of Conway, and Anne Phillips Hamilton of Greenville, S.C.; and one brother-in-law, Herman G. "Phil" Phillips (Hannah) of Winnsboro, S.C.; a number of nieces and nephews; and close family friend, Anne Newcomb. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to family physician and longtime friend, Dr. John Wilson, Jr., and caregivers Ora Dunlap, Rebecca Bellamy, Loretta Dunlap, Georgia Randall, and Ann Miller of Mercy Hospice. Ms. Davis was born in Lake City, South Carolina, June 25, 1916, a daughter of the late Christopher E. and Rosa McWhite Thomlinson. She was a member of Aynor United Methodist Church, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Ms. Davis was predeceased by one daughter, Donna Davis Peitzman. Survivors are one son, W.     2. ANDREWS - Rev. Henry Albert Ivey, Sr., 82, the beloved widower of Margaret Eunice Barnhill Ivey, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Tidelands Community Hospice House. Rev. Ivey was born a son of Ervin Ivey and Rosa Lee Ivey Huck-Johnson on March 14, 1928, in Conway. He faithfully served as a Minister of the Gospel for over 60 years with the South Carolina Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. He accepted the mantle of ministry in 1948; received Ministerial License on Sept 29, 1951; received Ordination on July 8, 1960; and retired from fulltime ministry on May 10, 1989. Rev. Ivey with his faithful beloved wife and partner in the Ministry served the following Pentecostal Holiness Churches: Sandy Hill, Jonestown, Friendfield, Owens Chapel, Willow Creek, Spring Pond, Lake View, St. Andrews, Rock, and Holy Trinity. Upon retirement he finished his ministry as a member of the Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. Henry and Margaret were married on January 12, 1946, celebrated 62 years together and from this union, they were blessed with three sons, Rev. Henry Albert (Mary) Ivey, Jr. of Lake City, James Edward "Eddie" (Frances) Ivey of Florence, and Joel William (Sandra) Ivey of Dillion; two daughters, Deborah I. (Donald) Newton and Karen I. (Mike) Hogan, both of Andrews; eight grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Also surviving are: one brother, Willie T. Hucks; and two sisters, Julie H. Shackleford, and Delphia H. King. He was predeceased by his parents; his step-father, John T. Hucks; three broth ers, John B. "JB" Ivey, Gentry A. "Bill" Ivey and Brookie Hucks; and three sisters, Louise I. Long, Emma Bryant, and Mary Todd.     2. Rev. Victor Thomas Prince, age 70, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the Medical University of South Carolina following an illness. Born July 20, 1940 in Loris, SC he was the son of the late Mr. Greer Collins Prince, Sr. and the late Mrs. Mary Eulee Milligan Prince. Mr. Prince was an avid fisherman, retired carpenter and a minister. Survivors include his two daughters: Vonda Kay Prince Stroud and husband Cecil Timothy of Nichols, SC, and Tronda Fay Prince Russ and husband Barry of Loris, SC; two grandsons: Blake Stroud and Darry Russ; one great-grandson: Hunter Stroud; two brothers: G. C.     2. William Norman "Shorty" Floyd, 76, of Glass Hill Drive, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Mr. Floyd was born in Horry County, a son of the late Charlie Bruce and Blanche Marie Roberts Floyd. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Floyd retired from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Jesse Johnce Floyd; and a sister, Marvel F. Gerrald. Surviving are his wife, Doris Cox Floyd of Conway; one daughter, Norma F.     2. AGNES VIRGINIA SANDSTROM GRAHAM She was born on February 23, 1927, in Sarasota, Florida, a daughter of Gustav E. and Florrie Gore Sandstrom. Her father was a carpenter and builder for the Ringling Brothers and her mother a school cafeteria worker. The family moved north to Columbia, South Carolina in the mid-1940s, where she graduated from Ursuline High School in 1945. From there she went to Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she received her registered nursing certificate in September 1948. Returning to Myrtle Beach to her family's business, The Sandstrom Home, after graduation, she moved to Baltimore, Maryland, to live with her sister, Grace Sandstrom. It was there that she met the love of her life, James B. Graham, a Navy veteran and graduate of Colgate University, on a blind date. Married in 1951, they lived in Ohio, New Jersey, and North and South Carolina before retiring to Myrtle Beach in February 1989. In retirement, she and Jim were faithful volunteers for Meals on Wheels as well as attending St. Philip's and King of Glory Lutheran churches. They also traveled extensively, their lifelong dream, going all over the United States as well as visiting the Caribbean, Canada, Puerto Rico, and South America. It was Jenny's strong will and spirit that kept her going after a 12 diagnosis of Alzheimer's. The Family wishes to thank the wonderful nursing staff at Kingston Nursing Center for Jenny's care for the past four years. Lorie, Flo, Stephanie, your care was instrumental to her comfort and well being. Donnella, thank you for your friendship. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2005; her parents; and two sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Graham Thomas of Conway, South Carolina, and Paula Graham, of St. Petersburg, Florida; as well as her son-in-law, John C.     2. Vera Floyd Jordan, 72, of Luck Road, died Monday, October 18, 2010 at Loris Hospital. Mrs. Jordan was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Hampton L. and Alene Cooper Floyd. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the South Carolina Forestry Commission as a fire tower operator in Aynor and Wampee. For many years, she was an active member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church of Aynor. Mrs. Jordan was married to her late husband, Lonnie B. Jordan, for 51 years. Surviving are five children, Terri Buffkin (Steve) of Loris, Melanie Nesbitt (Weldon) of Gresham, Judith Jordan of Lowell, Mass., Carol Small (Thomas) of Galivants Ferry, and Lonnie Brian Jordan (Missy) of Conway; brother, Larue Floyd (Judy) of Galivants Ferry; 10 grandchildren, Warren, Crystal, April, Josh, Gabe, Robert, Timothy, Jessi, Joseph, and Jacob; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah, William, Forrest, and Ethan; several special nieces and nephews; and her devoted pet, "Pooh." Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by a sister, Lota Floyd Jordan (Morris). Rita was a licensed floral designer, a former secretary with Loris Community Hospital and a member of Springfield Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Frankie Porter and wife, Paula of Tabor City, N.C.; two daughters, Regina "Gina" Reaves of Tabor City, N.C., and Tonya Suggs and husband, Mitchell of Loris, S.C.; one sister, Wilma Watts and husband, Roger of Longs, S.C.; and nine grandchildren, Blake, Morgan, Austin, Ryan, Dillon, Brevin, Aiden, Brianna and Taylor.
