    2. Annie Jane Cox Wilson, age 78, entered into the presence of the Lord from her home in the Daisy community on Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Mrs. Wilson was the beloved widow of Jim Wilson. She was born October 1, 1932 in Loris, SC, daughter of the late Thomas James Cox and the late Mae Mahaley Porter Cox. Mrs. Wilson worked for many years with Tabor City Sewing Factory and Talon Mfg., as well as farming beside her husband until she retired and cared for him until his death in 1987. Mrs. Wilson was a devoted mother to two children by birth and five children of the heart, which she lovingly raised in the Christian faith. She loved her family and encouraged them to love one another and to stay strong in their love for God, their country and to one another. She loved all and never met a stranger. Survivors include her son: Jimmy Dale Wilson of Loris; her daughter: Wanda Wilson Hughes and her husband, Randall of Conway; three grandchildren: Kaitlyn Wilson, Jolene Harrell and husband, Billy and Jarrett Hughes and wife, Brandy all of Conway and one great-grandchild, Ella Ireland Hughes. She loved and cared for five children of the heart, her nephew and nieces, Billy Cox and wife, Patsy of Conway, Sylvia Fowler and husband, Wayne of Loris, Rachel Sisk and husband, Carl of Mt. Gilead and Carl Cox of Conway and the late Kenneth Cox. She has been Nanny and Grandma to many, Jarrett, Jolene, Kaitlyn, Neil, Scottie, April, Chad, Billy Ray, Tammy, Eric, Amanda, Kevin, Matthew, Wendy and all of their children. We want to acknowledge and express our gratitude to her faithful caregivers, Mary Cannon, Charlene Parker, Myrtle Holmes, Libby Holden and Laura Mae Martin for all of their love and compassion during her sickness, may God Bless each and everyone of them. We would also like to thank each and every employee at the Loris Extended Care Facility who truly represent God's extended hands. Everyone associated with Amedisys Hospice with very special thanks to Nickie Cox and Renee Hill.     2. Ruby Lee Todd Hardwick, age 93, wife of the late Leo Hardwick, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Hardwick was born July 29, 1917 in Conway, a daughter of the late Sam and Mary Skipper Todd. She was a dedicated charter member of Free Worship Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Hardwick was active in the present design of the church and held many offices. She loved her Lord and church above everything. Mrs. Hardwick was preceded in death by five brothers, Geder Todd, Kinley Todd, Victor Todd, J.M. Todd, and Henry Todd all of Conway; two sisters, Eliza Lewis and Gladys Sessions of Conway; three sons, Wendell Hardwick, Billy Hardwick and Winford Hardwick all of Conway; one granddaughter, Tammy Lee Long and one grandson, Lee Hardwick of North Myrtle Beach. Surviving include two sons, Truitt Hardwick and wife Grace of Conway, Johnny Hardwick and wife Donna of Little River; three daughters, Sarah Jordan and husband Ringle of North Myrtle Beach, Helen Long and husband Barney of Longs, and Jolane Strickland and husband Joe of Conway; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Emma Cooper of Conway. Born March 12, 1913 in Loris, SC she was the daughter of William Albert Canada and Amanda McDowell Canada. Mrs. Caines was a homemaker and a longtime member of Beulah Baptist Church. Survivors include her two sons, Richard P. Caines and wife, Mary of Loris and William Royce Caines and wife, Cary of Seneca, SC; four daughters: Flora C. Carroll and husband, Jim of Aiken, SC, Rachel C. Kisiah of Florence, SC, Loretta C. Peele and husband, Charlie of Gainesville, FL and Melba C. Bonnie was born December 16, 1953 in Horry County, a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Martha Elizabeth Pridgen Williamson. She was a homemaker and a member of Christian Faith Baptist Church. Surviving Bonnie are: a Daughter: Amy Perritt of Mullins; 2 Grandchildren: Michael Storm Reaves and Kenneth Maxwell Reaves; 4 Sisters: Joyce Lackey of Mullins, Janet (Harvey) Britt of Mullins, Jean (Richard) Martin of Mullins and Sylvia Britt of Mullins; a Special Niece: Crystal Williamson of Mullins; and several other nieces and nephews.     2. MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Brown McCallum Hamer, Jr., 74, of Myrtle Beach, SC, died Sunday, November 7, 2010 after a short battle with cancer. He was born March 1, 1936, in Florence, SC to the late Brown McCallum and Louise Gary Haynsworth Hamer of Dillon, SC. He earned his Eagle Scout Award in 1952 and his Eagle Scout with Bronze Palm Award in 1953. Mr. Hamer graduated from Dillon High School in 1954 where he lettered in football and baseball. While attending Davidson College, he played football and was a member of the Delta Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. In 1958, he graduated with a B.S. in Economics. During his career in corporate accounting, he worked for Beaunit Corp., Shakespeare Co., Wilbur Driver Co., and Amax Inc. From 1983 to 1995, he was President of Hamark Enterprises dba Orangeburg Ace Hardware. Mr. Hamer was a lifelong member of Mackey Lodge 77 A.F.M., served a term as State Secretary of the SC Chapter of the National Association of Accountants, was a Trustee of The R.P. Hamer, Sr. Cemetery Association, and was a former member of the Lions Club. He was a charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and the American Diabetes Association, both of Orangeburg, SC. Mr. Hamer is survived by his daughters, Sara Anne Hamer Edmonds of Myrtle Beach and Elizabeth Gary Hamer Albrecht (Robert) of Fayetteville, NC. Also surviving are three grand-daughters: Katherine Louise Edmonds, Emma Louise Albrecht, and Rebecca Marie Albrecht. A brother, Robert Pickett Hamer and a sister, Margaret Louise Hamer Floyd, both of Dillon, prede-ceased him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 1:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Dillon conducted by Rev. John O.     2. Mable Davis Snowden, 91, wife of the late Bates Snowden, died Monday morning at her home. Mrs. Snowden was born in Horry County, the daughter of the late Bruce and Mellie Davis. After marrying Bates, they were constant companions working side by side on the farm for over fifty years. They also enjoyed visiting others in the community. Mrs. Snowden was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where she was in charge of the Card Ministry for many years. She was predeceased by two brothers, F. Emory and G. Coley Davis; and three sisters, Florence Hansen, Leila Singleton, and Dorothy Davis. Survivors include two daughters, Sara S. Bates and Lois S. Byrd (Roger), both of Charleston; two sons, George H. Snowden (Mary) and Samuel B. Snowden (Peggy), both of Conway; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and special friends and caregivers, Nancy Richardson, Lisa and Katrina. Randy, who was proud of his military service, was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Viet Nam era.     2. Hildred Clayton Harrelson, Sr., 77, died Sunday, November 21, 2010, at his home following an illness. Born January 13, 1933 in Loris, S.C., he was the eldest son of Alvia Preston Harrelson and Jennie Bell Suggs Harrelson. Mr. Hildred Harrelson graduated Valedictorian at Green Sea High School in 1950 and continued his education earning an Associates Degree from Southeastern Community College. In 1953, he married Betty Jane Springs and began his career with Firestone Tire & Rubber Company where he was employed for twenty-five years. Mr. Harrelson also worked as an independent Health & Life Insurance Agent, Real Estate Agent, and farmer. Mr. Harrelson was a dedicated Christian and an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served in many capacities including: Deacon, Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Building and Cemetery Committees. He was a Charter Member and past President of the Tabor City Lions Club and a past President of the Tabor City Chamber of Commerce. He was a loving and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. Mr. Harrelson is survived by his mother, Jennie Bell Suggs Harrelson of Loris; his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Betty Jane Springs Harrelson of Loris; son, H. Mr. Causey retired as a Senior Vice President with Bank of America. He was an avid golfer.     2. Beulah Dusenbury Lane Harrelson, 88, of 34th Avenue, North died Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Tidelands Hospice House in Georgetown where she had been a resident for a short while. Mrs. Harrelson was born in Conway, a daughter of the late William Ellis and Annie Singleton Dusenbury. She grew up in the Toddville section of Horry County and was a graduate of Conway High School. Mrs. Harrelson was preceded in death by her first husband, T. O. Lane, Sr.; her second husband, G. Wallace Harrelson; a son, Marshall W. Lane; two brothers, Dick Dusenbury and Zack Dusenbury; two sisters, Mary D. Lane and Alma D. Harrelson; six half brothers; and one half sister. She was a member of the Eastern Star and had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Conway and Myrtle Beach for many years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Carson was a member of the Moose Lodge, and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pinky; two brothers, Richard and Bob Carson. Surviving are one daughter, Pamela Stauffer and husband, Carl, of Conway; two grandchildren, Brian Daughterty of Conway and Mike Daugherty of Akron, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Samantha, and Dominic; three step-grandchildren, Carl, Jr., Chuck, and Chris; two brothers, Raymond Carson, George Carson; one sister, Garnet Pursley; and many nieces and nephews.     2. Hugh E. Smith, Sr., 85, of Orangeburg and formerly of Beaufort, SC died Friday, November 19, 2010 at Magnolia Place in Longwood Plantation, Orangeburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 22, 2010 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Orangeburg with the Rev. J. Michael Smith and Rev. Susan Ulmer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Orangeburg. Dr. Smith was born in Mullins, SC, a son of the late Howard B. Smith and Ruth Bethea Smith. He graduated from Mullins High School and attended the Citadel, University of Mississippi, Duke University and the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his internship and residency at Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC. Prior to practicing medicine Dr. Smith served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1945, on the U.S.S. LST 286. He saw action at the D-Day invasion in southern France and Okinawa, Japan. His rank was a Pharmacist's Mate 1st Class. Dr. Smith began his career in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1954 and retired in 1983. He was the former Chief of Staff at the Orangeburg Regional Hospital, President of the South Central Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, and a member of the South Carolina OB/GYN Association. He was a charter member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church of Orangeburg and a member of Carteret United Methodist Church of Beaufort. He was a past President of Orangeburg Rotary Club & Scout Master of Explorer Sea Scouts. He was an avid sailor and skilled furniture craftsman. He loved his medical practice and patients and he delivered over 5000 babies in 3 Counties. Surviving are his wife of 63 years Mrs. Martha Meares Smith Of the Oaks, a daughter Bonnie Raney (Dan) of Lake Lure N.C., one son, Jefferson H. Smith of West Columbia, daughter in law Kim O. Smith of Aiken, six grandchildren Shannon (Kenny) Perry, Susan (Scott) Justice , Rebecca (Tony) Williams, Misty S. Goldiner, Kimberly S. (Tom) Patterson, Christopher B.
