same thing for me fernie i sit in nc trying to piece toget. ct, vt ny sc and have more than i ever hoped for thanks to those who shared their info on the web.it has saved me yrs of sending off for census then going to lib. to read them not to mention the strain on eyes. i could never have found the info on des in england that "cousins" shared on the net, plus i've found family members on web and been surprised to find out links through marriages of family members i didn't even know were there. its especially hard when you are trying and your parents are deceased and your're doing a lot on your own. diane

George, You can find the dates at: http://millennium.fortunecity.com/abbeydale/731/ Danny
Here I sit thousands of miles away from Horry County, South Carolina, trying to put together a family tree from my descendants of that same county. This would never have been possible had it not been for the dedicated folks back in SC, like Vicky, Marceline and all those great volunteers who have made searching for ancestors over the Internet such an easy task. I can think of no other county in the United States who has put together such a piece of work. From the bottom of my heart, thank you one and all. Fernie George Holt Arcadia, CA
Old Springfield Cemetery is located off of Highway 9 and Flag Patch Road. Call the VA Admin in Washington at 1-800-697-6947 or write, but the best way to get VA FORM 40-1330 "Application For A Standard Headstone Or Marker" is to call first and then go visit your local veterans service officer to pick up one. The regs say that the tombstone has to not be a replacement stone and only for an unmarked grave but if you have the cooperation of the cemetery officials perhaps something could be worked out!!!!! If you want to buy an Iron Cross of the highest caliber, from a Tenn. SCV Unit, for $75, then let me know and I'll get you the phone number. They are shiny cast iron but with no finish. I have a friend that has a auto paint and body shop and he gave them multi-coats free heavy duty primer and black enamel whenever he finished a job and before he cleaned his spray guns and I then hand painted mine with a customized paint/color scheme job. Hope that this helps----Julian --------------EF27BB34CCDE1EB7D278CEB7--

I would recommend you checking with the HCHS pension lists and military records section, as many times the pension data is more complete than any other record. I do not have a SC soldier's ( maybe he served in a nearby NC unit)Compiled Service Record listing for a Richard Booth. I do have a Robert G. Booth 10th SCV Inf, Co. "B" and several John's serving in "Horry Units" and a R.A. Boothe 1oth SCV Inf Co. D, 1st Lt.. Kirkland's "Broken Fortunes" shows that no Robert Booth as a fatality in the War but a John A. Booth and J.W. Boothe. Sorry but I hope that this may help in some way. February 15, 2000 Dear Diane: Have or are you going to order his CSR? See below, you might want to order several CSR's.What County was he from, a whole bunch of Chavis enlised or were from Marion County and Marlboro, try to order his pension application form the SCDAH based on these Counties. Interstingly, I find Alexander having a CSR for his SC service but an examination of the actual roster of Company D of the 26th (they were probably all kin and enlisted close together in time in this unit) shows no Alexander! I see an Elijah 27 (in 1863), James 28, Bethea J 20, Willis J 16, John 15 ?, Nelson 24, Eli 21 or 24, Calvin 25, Lvi 24, WILLIAM ( Alexander?, SC families had an annoying habit of calling their kids by their middle names)17, Bithel 20, and Alfred 18. all but Calvin (he from Brunswick, NC) were from Marlboro. No Alexander, he either joined after the date when the intial roster was made-up or probably lied about his age to join up. I'd guess that your data as to his birthdate is wrong. I believe that you said your dob for him was about 1853, which would not allowed him admittance to the CSA Army, unless his daddy was named Alexander, which it probably was and they called him William and daddy Alexander but William served but daddy didn't, not at least in SC maybe NC. It also is possible that he took on his beother William's name and gave up his real name to the feds when captured/ Just theories! A look-up in Kirklands "Brokern Fortunes" reveals William was killed on 05/16/64, Alfred on 08/16/64, Bithel on a questionable cited date 05/05/62 (64), Harris 11/02/63, John 07/25/62 (63), Levi 05/20/64. Here is the data and look it over to make what sense that you can out of it. Henry Monroe Richardson was my great grandfather and I've been trying to find his siblings. From what I can find out so far, Charlie Edward Watson (no dates) married Emma Josephine Richardson (no dates). They had 2 sons that I know of, Wilbur and Haspard "Hasp". Emma Josephine Richardson was Henry Monroe Richardsons sister, along with the following siblings. I do not have dates for any of these except my great grandparents. I got this information 2nd hand over the telephone so there could be errors. Also I have a great aunt Ruth Singleton that married a Paul Richardson and have no information on them. If you are familiar with any of this and can make corrections/additions, it would be greatly appreciated, Sonja Singleton Phipps ........ 2 Emma Josephine Richardson ............ +Charlie Edward Watson ................... 3 Wilbur Watson ................... 3 Haspard Watson ........ 2 Maggie Richardson ............ +George Richardson ........ 2 Charlotte Richardson ........ 2 Rob Richardson ........ 2 Bill Richardson ........ 2 Harley Richardson ........ 2 Henry Monroe Richardson b: December 28, 1879 d: December 11, 1933 ............ +Mary Ellen Capps b: January 14, 1881 d: March 29, 1977
Does anyone have access to the names of folks buried in Springfield Cemetery? This is one of those cemeteries that is not catalogued as yet over the net on the Horry website. I am looking for some dates and names for William Kenneth Holt, his wife Minerva Frink Holt, and any other Holts buried there. Many thanks, George Holt
