Re. Samuel Sarvis, he was an officer in the 26th SCV Inf Regt and there is some info on him in several issues of the Independent Republic Quarterly published by the Horry County Hist Society. Je received a confed pension and his pension is on file at the SC Dept of Archives and History in Columbia.
