I am looking for Margaret J. Cox born about 1824. She married Cleland Cockfield in Williamsburg County. Does anyone know who Margaret Cox is and where she is from? Marci-Jo Mishoe Charleston, SC
To Linda McNish, I noticed your reference to John Needham Cox b. 1823. I have my grandfather, Robert Needham Roach b. 1849 in Illinois and his father Needham Roach b. ca. 1796 at Orange, North Carolina. Robert Needham Roach went to what is now Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 1892 and married Anna Elida Vaught, daughter of Peter Vaught. Do you have any more information on the Needham surname? I could never understand the connection that brought my grandfather from IL back to SC to find a wife. Maybe there is a Needham connection. Robert P. Roach

Donna, saw your posting to Vickie and was wondering if your Isaac Long was Isaac G. Long listed on the Horry County South Carolina 1850 Census? His daughter, Amanda Melvina Long, was my gg-grandmother. The census reports he was born in North Carolina. Dow L. Graham Researching Grahams of Horry County SC and Wayne County GA
I saw the posts with the JENERETTE name and it sparked an interest! My great grandmother was KEZIAH EDNA JENERETTE (b. September 25, 1878, d. December 28, 1963). Her parents were HARLEY BRAXTON JENERETTE (b. February 23, 1836, d. December 02, 1903) and ANNIE JEAN JACOBS. They were from the Horry Co. area. If anyone's line runs into this one, please e-mail me at barker@new-quest.net . I will be out of town for a few days but I will respond when I return! Thank you, Lisa Stewart Barker barker@new-quest.net
Thank You Nelson, I will pass on your message to Dora. Lisa
I think Mack & Edna's phone number is 365-8189, Their son Isaac's number is 347-6288. Mack has a neice Linda Johnson whose number is 358-6163, she will know how to get in touch with them. Nelson
Can anyone help Dora? My father was Sidney Johnson, He had a sister named Claudie, who married Beady Martin and they lived in Galivants Ferry ( Horry County) At that time we lived in Loris SC and in the summer when school was out I would go stay with them quite often. Aunt Claud had a daughter named Edna who married Mac Jennerett, I have tried to contact them by phone and no luck. everyone is so spread out now. I don't know that we are are related however we could be. If you know any of these people, please let me know. Thanks Dora
I read your web pages with great interest. Have you come across any information regarding John Graham; wife Mary, sons John, Will(iam), and daughter Mary who arrived in 1733 to settle Savannah Georgia and left the colony "for the Carolinas" in 1738? His arrival is documented in "Georgia Journeys..." by Temple and Coleman and "A List of the Early Settlers of Georgia" by Coulter and Saye. I've been told that he was the "first" of my line to arrive in this country. And I know he left behind a brother in London whom he tried to get permission from Oglethorpe to come over. My ancestors line is Dow Lorenzo Jr. (myself, born Volusia County FL) -- Dow Lorenzo Sr (father, born Wayne County GA, still living) -- Lorenzo Dow (b. 1896 Wayne County GA - d. 1965 Volusia County FL) -- John Robert (b. 1867 Horry County SC - d. 1936 Wayne County GA?) -- James M. (b. 1837 Horry County SC - d. bef 1912) -- John (b. 1810 Horry County SC - d?). Reportedly, the John Sr. listed on the 1778 Prince George Parish SC Jury List is the son of John and Mary. This gap is also my brick wall. In advance, Thank you very much! Dow Researching Grahams of Horry County SC and Wayne County GA
I read that Dr. W. K. Cuckon practiced medicine in Horry County South Carolina during the Civil War and that his account book, from 1856-1869, survived the war and passing of time. It contains contains the names of many area residents of the time. Does anyone have access to it and know if it contains any Grahams; especially James M. Graham or his wife Amanda Melvina LONG Graham? Much thanks in advance. Dow Researching Grahams of Horry County SC and Wayne County GA
