Kay F. Hyatt, 72, of Myrtle Beach, died April 16, 2010 in the Conway Medical Center. She was a native of Dillon, and a daughter of the late Lucian Patrick and Sophie Rogers Patrick. Surviving are three daughters, Pamela Mew and husband Byron of Myrtle Beach, Sandra Coats and husband Wayne of Conway, Tiffany Hyatt and fiancé Dan Atkinson of Myrtle Beach, two step-sons, Ricky Hyatt of Concord, NC and Tommy "BO" Hyatt of Myrtle Beach, a step-daughter, Cathy Dubose of Myrtle Beach, two sisters, Patsy Jackson of Las Vegas, Nevada and Joann Jones of Murrells Inlet, grandchildren Jamie Scott and Stacey King, four step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hyatt is also survived by a special and loving nephew, Randy Byrd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Hyatt, and a sister, Anna Lois Byrd. CHARLESTON - Fredrick McDuffy Lewis, 70, husband of Barbara Smoak Lewis, of Charleston, died after a long battle with Alpha1 Trypsin Deficiency, Friday, April 9, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his family. Fred was born May 30, 1939, in Conway, SC to the late Fredrick Donald Lewis and Mildred Spivey Lewis. He graduated from Conway High School and attended Coastal Carolina. He enlisted in the Navy and served his country proudly for five years as a pilot. He then owned and operated Carolina Coffee Service for many years. He then became the Industrial sales manager for Ferguson Enterprises, where he retired. Following retirement, he owned and operated Wings of Love and was affectionately known as "The Birdman". He is survived by his wife of 39 years; two daughters, Nicole Lewis Kinsey and her husband, Rev. Alan, of Greenville, SC and Tamara Lewis Koellner and her husband, Brian, of Summerville; his brother, Richard Dale Lewis and his wife, Chrissie of Lexington, SC; his sister, Judie Lewis Lassister and her husband, Sam of Moncks Corner; his grandchildren, Taylor, Grayson, and Rileigh Koellner and Gabriel Kinsey; and his special friends, Garry Barnette, Ann Wright, and Johnny Swygert. N. CHARLESTON - Sally Mozelle Stalvey Wright, 75, the beloved wife and partner in the Christian Ministry of Rev. Howard E. Wright, Sr. went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, April 8, 2010, at the Trident Medical Center, N. Charleston. Mrs. Wright was born the daughter of Preston Alonzo "Lonnie" Stalvey and Carrie Inez Causey Stalvey on January 4, 1935, in Conway. She was a 1953 graduate of Conway High School. She was the epitome of "Southern Mom" devoted to her husband and children, caring for her family, church and community. Mrs. Wright labored faithfully beside her husband for over 53 years leaving a Legacy of Pastoral Ministry. The Wrights were members of the South Carolina Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church where she has served in numerous capacities including Women's Ministry District Director and Minister's Wife's District Director. Howard and Mozelle were married August 13, 1953, and celebrated 56 years together. From their blessed union survive, three children, Wanda (Michael) Shepherd, Debbi (Terry) Cook, and H.E. "Butch" Wright, Jr.; loved as daughter, Susan Cain; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are, Horace (Delores) Stalvey, Maurice (Juanita) Stalvey, Mendell (Barbara) Stalvey, Bill (Judy) Stalvey, Gerri (Jim) McNeill, Rose Nell (John) Singleton, and Barbara (John) Benton. Lydia was a Myrtle Beach High School graduate and an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Myrtle Beach, where she was a choir member and MYF counselor. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. Survivors include her husband; Billy Randall "Randy" Banks of Conway, her father; Richard Henry Hussey Sr. of Myrtle Beach, her four children; Dawn Banks Nettle and husband Duane of Conway, Brandi Banks Garris and husband Gerry of Myrtle Beach, Billy Randall Banks Jr. and Denise Banks Tindall and husband Michael both of Conway. Her grandchildren; Preston and Austin Nettle, Jacob, Jonathan and Brandon Garris, Blair and Ivy Banks, and Lance and Banks Tindall. Her two brothers; Richard H. Hussey Jr and wife Linda, Michael Hussey and wife Jean, her sister; Helen Hussey Parler all of Myrtle Beach, her mother-in-law; Dean Sanders of Murrells Inlet, her sister-in-laws; Gloria Banks Chiarilli and husband Joe of Hemingway, Judy Banks Colgate and husband Tom of Gastonia, Terron Sanders Holliday and husband Mark of North Augusta, her brother-law; Ford Sanders and wife Michelle of Conway. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 12, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church in Myrtle Beach, with Rev. Ken Timmerman officiating. Joe F. "Jimmy" Harrelson, 64, of Sunrise Drive died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at home. He was born January 5, 1946 in Georgetown, a son of the late Frank Joe and Bertha Jacobs Harrelson. He was also predeceased by one brother, J. W. Griffin and two sisters, Frances Jacobs and Debbie Hanes. Jimmy enjoyed playing his guitar, especially with his grandchildren and singing. He was a very kind hearted person and never met a stranger. He also loved taking care of his animals. Mr. Harrelson is survived by his two sons, Frankie J. Harrelson (Dana) and Tony L. Harrelson (Donna) both of Conway; one daughter, Frances E. Carroll (Sammy) of Conway; one brother, Russell Griffin; five sisters, Carol Smith, Eloise Harrelson, Sherrill Powers, Faye Heath, and Pam Miller; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and many other family and friends who will miss him. Rev. Russell Jackson Hewitt, age 85, of Windy Hill Drive, died Friday, April 09, 2010 at Conway Medical Center. Rev. Hewitt was born in Horry County, a son of the late John Dave Hewitt and Mary Watts Hewitt. He was member of Riverside Baptist Church. Rev. Hewitt was a dedicated Christian and minister of the Baptist Faith having served the Lord and several churches for 50+ years. Rev. Hewitt was a US Navy Veteran of WWII in unit Casual 44. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Ernestine Hewitt, a sister, Juanita Hammonds and a son in law Claudell Stalvey. Surviving are three sons, Johnny R. Hewitt of Conway, Rev. Ronald J. Hewitt and Elaine of Conway and Larry Hewitt and wife Abby of Loris; two daughters, Frankie Royals and husband Kendall of Conway and Jackie Fenner and husband Rev. H.G. TYLER, 71, of Little River, died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Dorn Veterans Hospital, Columbia, SC. Born on November 28, 1938 in Galivants Ferry, SC, he was the son of the late Hubert Graham and Edna Harrelson Tyler. H.G. was a farmer and was owner of Tyler Accounting. He was a member of the Graddy Masonic Lodge #257 in Aynor since 1961 and was Past Master and a member of American Legion Post #4285. He was associated with The Frugal and Fancy at North Myrtle Beach Flea Market and was a member of Berea Baptist Church. H.G. is survived by his wife of 13 years, Jeannette Strickland Tyler, two daughters, Regina Lee (David) of Aynor, Tracy Holt (Sonny) of Conway; two stepsons, Tommy McCracken (Denise) and Eddie McCracken (Chelle), both of Charleston, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
