Claude was raised in Myrtle Beach and was of the Baptist faith. He was a animal lover; enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Diane S. Floyd, born July 9, 1947, entered into eternal rest on May 22, 2010, as a result of an accidental fall at her residence. She was the eldest daughter of the late Joe E. Smith, Jr. and Flora Jean R. Smith of Galivants Ferry, SC. Mrs. Floyd was born in Mullins S.C., and graduated from Aynor High School in 1965, she moved to Columbia and worked in both retail and real estate offices and retired from the SC Real Estate Commission in 2001. She loved her many cats and was a loving wife, sister, aunt, friend and especially a devoted Mother to her sons. She showed tremendous kindness to everyone and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, O. Coke Floyd, Jr., sons William D. Squires, Justin C. Floyd, and Danny L. Floyd, all of Columbia, SC; sisters Brenda J. Smith and Glenda J. Faye Eason Sweet passed away on her birthday, Friday, May 21 st, 2010, in the presence of her large and loving family. She was the eldest daughter of Elizabeth (Monk) Vereen Eason and Eric Francis Eason and was born on May 21, 1938. Faye's children and their spouses are Terry Easterling (Marie) Garden City, Debra Whitlock (Rhett), Nokesville, VA, Scarlett Lee (Andrew) Garden City, Donald Easterling and partner, Michael Proctor, of Atlanta, and Sophie Gamble (Rick) Charleston, SC. She had many grandchildren, Greg Easterling, Ericka Laws, Corky, Richard, Aaron, Aiden Whitlock, Shane and Michelle Doyle, Taylor and Madison Gamble; and great-grandchildren, Ava. Sofia, Cole Laws, Anna, Brady, Avery Whitlock, Miranda Doyle, Bradley and Ronnie Watson. Faye's surviving siblings are sisters, Becky Sabo and Charlotte Jones. Predeceased siblings include a sister, Bobby Farr; and brother, Eric Eason. Faye graduated from Socastee High School and was a star basketball player. Faye also played some golf in her early years and made a hole in one with a hard hit worm-burner on the Par Three in Myrtle Beach. Faye was an avid sports fan and followed the Atlanta Braves with a fever surpassed only by her passion for the Clemson Tigers football. Faye was a budding entrepreneur at the age of 25 when she acquired and operated the Drake restaurant in Surfside Beach, SC, where locals gathered daily to drink "bottomless" cups of coffee and eat fine seafood and country cooking from her immaculate kitchen. She later became co-owner and manager of Pirate Cove Mobile Home Park in Garden City, SC. She was Past Royal Matron of Amaranth Murrells Inlet Court No. 20. Mr. Elwood "Nick" Chestnut, age 71, of Longs, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 9, 2010. Mr. Chestnut was born on October 22, 1938, in Myrtle Beach, SC, a son of the late Donnie A. and Thelma Inman Chestnut. He was a member of the Buck Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Chestnut was a farmer and an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed the company of many friends. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elnita Gerald Chestnut of Longs; one son, Jerry Chestnut and his wife, Penny, of Longs; one daughter, Angela Chestnut of Cape Coral, Florida; two beloved granddaughters, Kristen and Kelly Chestnut; one brother, Cliff Chestnut and his wife, Renita, of Longs; two sisters, Shirley C. Grainger of Myrtle Beach, and Judy C. Edwards and her husband, Preston, of Idaho; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 12, 2010, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Loris. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010, from the Buck Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Allen and Rev. Lebron Crisp officiating. Allen Eugene Richardson, 70, beloved son, brother, and father and husband of Gertie Ann Tilton Richardson went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday morning, May 10, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Richardson was the son of Warren Jackson Richardson and Isla Walker Lane Richardson and was born on June 10, 1939 in Galivant's Ferry. He was retired supervisor for MB Kahn and after retirement he work Manheim Sales; He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of the Quinby Baptist Church. Allen and Gertie were married October 23, 1964 and celebrated 45 years. From this blessed union survive: five children, Vonda Kay R. (F.L.) Smith, Jimmy Allen (Missy) Richardson, Linda Sue R. (David) Green, David Allen (Tuesday) Richardson, Sammy Joe (Viki) Smith; eleven grandchildren: Samantha Sutton, Frankie Smith, Jennifer Smith, Jeremy Richardson, Joshua Richardson Tiffany Green, Lydia Green, Noah Green, Zebadiah Richardson, Daphne Richardson, Amber Smith, Zach Smith; two great grandchildren, Chase Smith and Kristopher (Hunter) Hendrix. Also surviving are: four brothers: George W. (Ruby) Richardson, Elbert G. (Evelyn) Richardson, Jack W. (Janice) Richardson, Michael T. (Elizabeth) Richardson; two sisters, Juanita R. (Robert) Fennelly and Nellie R. (Martin) Cline; extended family, Mrs. Clayton (Eva) Richardson and Mrs. Bobby (Bera) Richardson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Bobby Richardson, Clayton Richardson, and Dan A. Richardson; and three sisters, Leila "Sis" Baggs, Edith Harper, and Wennie Harper. Funeral services with Military Honors will be 3 PM, Thursday, May 13, 2010, at the Poplar Hill Free Will Baptist Church with interment in the Soles Chapel Cemetery directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. Mrs. Eula Marie Causey Fax, age 91, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Conway Medical Center following an illness. Mrs. Fax was born May 22, 1918 in Horry County a daughter of the late Isreal S. and Cora Belle Causey. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir. Mrs. Fax retired from Horry County Schools. She was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Fax; six brothers, Ernest Causey, Wendell Causey, Lester Causey, Reo Causey, Brice Causey, and Angus Causey; and three sisters, Sally Mitchell, Tonie Estes, and Bonnie Stanley. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 11, 2010 from 6-8 pm at Ward Funeral Home in Loris. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Fischbach and Rev. Ricky Hardee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
