Since Deany was a partner/manager of my Great Uncle William Schofield's flower shop, he met my grandparents Raymond and Ann Schofield. They had six children, the youngest, my aunt being about 6 months old. Since Deany and his wife could not have children, they offered my grandparents 50 thousand dollars if they could adopt her. This would have been in late 1923. My grandparents refused but it makes a wonderful addition to my research. The O'Banions were said to be wonderful with charities and children.
