Hello Max, Saw your note on Schofield @rootsweb.com and was interested that your line comes from England. My line does as well with the arrival of Arthur Scovell to New England in 1660 from the Tarant Valley in South West England. Is this your line as well ? My information comes from published sources: "Arthur Scovell and his descendants in America, 1660-1900" Holly and Brainard, 1941. The name is well documented to be also Schofield and as you mentioned no "f" and many other spellings. My interest is primary the line after they arrived in Nova Scotia in 1760 from CT. Would be interested in hearing from you.
