I'm in the U.S. with an interest in the Schofields starting with GeorgeSkolfield (Early spelling) who settled in the Philadelphia area while his brother Thomas settled in Maine, traveling with the Orr family. These brothers left England in the 1700's. I do not yet know where in england they originated but am led to believe they were of English backgroud but may in fact have settled in Ireland prior to leaving for America.
