Sylvia, That's a funny story. I don't think I have any connection with the Schofield Barracks guy, but if I ever get to Hawaii I'll be careful! As to branches, the first Schofield in our line (that we know of) was Benjamin Franklin Schofield, born in N.Y. in 1796. It's funny, much later (my great great grandfather, born in Ohio) was Andrew Jackson Schofield. I'm not very good at this genealogy stuff. My aunt was the one, I just kept track by putting it all into the computer, and sometimes finding some new leads on the CDroms and things. Before she died I promised to be the keeper of the family history (I was the only one who cared!) And one day I will diligently continue on with her research, but right now I am running a business and raising two kids so it will have to wait until I have a little more leisure time.
