    3. The name has changed over the years . It was originally Scovel plus variations but the name in North America seems to be Schofield and that is the way I have it in Family Tree Make. I have not found any evidence that Samuel Schofield and Anna Coymer are his parents.  Yes, they did have a son named Jacob, who appears in the 1860 US census in PA but at that time my Jacob was in Wisconsin.
