    1. [SCHNELL] SCHNELL - Apollonia - Peter - Anna Maria - Peter - Johann in Missouri
    2. Terry Daugherty
    3. Since you are looking for more activity I will ask again as there might be someone new looking. I am looking for more Schnells related to Apollonia (nee Schnell). She married Theodore Günther (aka Guenther) in St. Louis in 1854. These Günthers came with the Saxon Immigration to Perry County, Missouri initially in 1839. This is the group that formed The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. There are other Schnells buried at Western Evangelical Cemetery (German) and also at Bethlehem Cemetery off Bellefontaine Rd., both in the St. Louis, Missouri area. I connected Apollonia with her family on a ship's list. I have a copy of the ship record from the Port of Rotterdam on the ship named "The Superb of Baltimore." Listed are the father: Peter, a farmer age 50; Anna Maria, mother age 41; son, Peter age 16, daughter, Apollonia age 9½ yrs.; son, Johann 4½yrs. It says they came from Hessia (part of Germany). I believe the mother’s maiden name to be Gaubatz. I have seen a Nicholas in this area also. Is this another name for Peter? Anyone have a clue? Apollonia was born 17 March 1835 and died 2 Dec 1896. I have more information on Theodore Günther’s family also. If you run across anything that might be of help I would certainly appreciate it. I also have other family lines that are from around Buer, Melle, Germany. Terry Daugherty (nee Brockmann)

Author: gthomas216 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.schnell/33.68/mb.ashx Message Board Post: another Chenell checking in. I am also a descendant of Thomas Wilson Chenell. I was curious of the mention of the northwest as I have been trying to figure out what happened to a child of "Venant" Thomas Chenell (a child of Paul Chenell and his first wife). her name is Julia and she was mentioned by my grandmother, Winifred Ruth (Chenell) Thomas as having gone to that area. Strange, I even have a picture of her as a young woman on her profile on my Thomas tree but don't know a thing about her after she left my area about 1913, Boston's North Shore. maybe the brother that Lynne mentioned as going to the Portland, OR in an earlier post was her father. I wish so much that I had my grandmother's address book as she kept in touch with so many of her cousins. Be sure and check out my grandmother's narrative posted on my profile of her too. I really have to wonder about this possibility of Venant Thomas Chenell ending up in Oregon as no one seems to know what happened to him and is gone from my area about the same time as Julia. One of the problems in this country is the disparity in availability of information between the different states. Where I look up most stuff is here in Mass. which has great access online. Some other states have next to nothing! there are so many of us out there, I found out a woman I have worked with for years is a 3rd cousin. but most amazing is to find that my two step-daughters are descendants of Thomas Wilson Chenell's brother, David Edwin Chenell! I have just began to research my Chenell relatives. I came across two possibilities for your Uncle Rad. First is William Radley Chenell (born 3/13/1867), son of Paul Chenel (born 1825) and Sarah Harris (born around 1830). He had 12 biological siblings and 3 half-siblings as far as I can tell. The second is another William Radley Chenell (born 9/8/1908), son of Paul Chenell (born 5/9/1876 and who is a brother of the first William) and Phoebe Welsh. The second William Radley Chenell married Irena Welsh. Let me know if this helps. p.s. I am a descendant of Thomas Wilson Chenell (my great-great grandfather), another brother of the first William Radley Chenell. Hope to hear from you soon. Right now I'm in the early stages and have just begun entering info onto a spreadsheet and the family tree here on Ancestry. I've been researching here on Ancestry, on the Library & Archives of Canada website and on the Automated Genealogy website. Also been talking to my Aunt Ruth verifying & getting some clarifying info also. Tons of info to sift through. Chat with you soon. I saw that you listed Thomas William Schennell as a relative. He and Carrie Terril (born 1869) are my great-great grandparents! That's as far as I have gotten just by listening to my Aunt Ruth. Thomas & Carrie had a daughter, Etta Elenora (1895-1984), who married Thomas William Dickson (1889-1944). They had 2 daughters, Vera Mable (1916-1996) and Annie Ethel Cora Ruth (who goes by Ruth) (1930 and still going strong). Vera had a daughter, Avis (1933-2005), my mother.
