Johannes Traudt is an ancestor of my great-great-great grandfather, Ernst Traudt (b 1739; d 1798) who was one of the First Settlers in Norka, Russia in 1766. One of his sons was Johan Heinrich Traudt (b 1772; d 1831). His son was Johannes Traudt (b 1802; d 1856).He had a son, Wilhem (b 1823), who had a son Nikolaus (b 1847). Nikolaus and his wife, Christina (b 1847) were the parents of Johannes Traudt. Johannes married Lydia Schnell (b 1879) in Feb 1904. Would love to share information!!! Schnell was born in Cleveland, Ohio (Cuyahoga County) and was the son of the late Frederick A. and Edith Ellliott (nee Spellman) Schnell. It was in 1965 that his family moved to Vero Beach from Higginsport, Ohio. During WWII, Schnell served in the US Army. He was a member of the Vero Beach Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He was a retired watch maker, having worked for Zeran's Jewelry before opening his own shop, Fred's Clock Shop in Vero Beach. He was preceded in death by his wife Naomi Schnell and a daughter Nancy Lynn Schnell. He is survived by his children Henry Lee Schnell (Nancy), Karen Lynn Boswell (David), Frederick J. Schnell (Elizabeth), and Timothy P. Schnell (Pamela L.); 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren Memorial contributions may be made to VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
