It appears to be spelled with only one "n" at the end. Our sense was that they were from the Alsace/Lorraine region and emigrated to the US in the late 1800's. It is an unusual name and I wonder if there is any connection. Any information will be helpful. The earliest Gliesman I can find is Heinrich D. Gliesman who was likely born somewhere around 1860.
