My ancestors, John and Anna Duhr Weinbeck sailed from Hamburg on May 12, 1885 and arrived in New York on May 25, 1885 on the ship Westphalia. If you are interested, I have a history of the ship. Anna came from the town of Tielen, near Erfde in Schleswig. Most of her family came to Clinton, Iowa where their descendants live today. Is any of this of interest to you? Michael J. I assume this is the mother of Betty Weinbeck (CHS 52). You might want to forward this to her. She is not on-line but here is mailing address. Betty (Weinbeck) Barnes 749 W. Rd 4N Chino Valley, AZ 86323 (928)636-1631 Maybe Jann Hansen would set up a file at the Historical - never hurts to hold on for someone in the family to get interest in their heritage after everyone is gone. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael Kearney" <mikejkearney@hotmail.com> To: <schleswig-holstein-roots@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 02, 2012 3:12 PM Subject: [SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN-ROOTS] How to Research a Surname that Seemingly does not Exist > > My ancestors, John and Anna Duhr Weinbeck sailed from Hamburg on May 12, > 1885 and arrived in New York on May 25, 1885 on the ship Westphalia.
