My grandfather was Hans Friedrich Jankowski and he was born on July 3, 1910 and died on March 16 1977. I think that he was born in the town of Schwabstedt, I know that he lived there for many years with his wife and children until moving to Schleswig, where he lived until he died. I know that he was trained and worked as a painter and that he was sent to Russia to fight in WWII. He married Marie (Andresen?), who was born on October 25 1909 and they had two sons, Uwe Heinrich Jankowski, born on September 7 1943 and Hans Jürgen Jankowski, born on September 10, 1950 (I think.) Any help you would be able to give me in my research would be greatly appreciated - I read German, but just don't speak/write it so well, so feel free to write in German or English. Thanks!
