I am responding to the recent Schluter/Schleuter posting. Perhaps we have a connection. My gg grandmother was Magdeline (Lena) Schlueter born 16 Dec 1847, possibly around Elmshorn S-H to (Hoy?) and Catherina (Olkers) Schlueter. My Magdelina (Lena) could be the half-sister Maggie that you mentioned. Magdeline (Lena) married Marx Sibbert 12 May 1866 and came to the US in 1887, settling first in Crawford Cty Iowa. My g gma, Anna, was the eldest of Marx & Lena's 10 children. If you would like to correspond, please contact me. I have a photo of Marx & Lena that I could email.
