Juan, Locate the closest church in the nearest town. Records are not always in the town of birth, marriage etc. Usually they are found in the nearest town with a church. If they were not Catholic they may be registered in a Catholic church if there is no other church convenient. You need to use a little imagination to seek out some of the records! He was born aprox. between 1820 and 1830 (1824 is my best guess), his name was Agustín (Agustín is a spanish name, so I think it's a translation of his real name, maybe it was August) Jenssen (Jenßen). He left Germany aprox. in 1860 (through the port of Hamburg?) and he came to live and get married and have children here in Latin América. He died here in 1903 and the age of 79, according to his death certificate. > If anyone have any information that could help me, please let me know. For instance, I don't know where I can find the church records, because I understand that Lehmbek is too small to have a church. > > Best Regards, > Juan Jenssen > > > ==== SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN-ROOTS Mailing List ==== > The Frequently_Asked_Questions web-site can be found at: > http://www.genealogy-sh.com/faq-sh-roots/index.htm >
