To Gabriele Bloecker, Thank you for the explanations and the hard work of your group! I noticed your surname immediately! I have been researching my children's ancestors Sophia and Henry Blocker for several years. The Bloecker/Blocker/Bloker Family immigrated from Postfeld (near Preetz), Holstein, Prussia to Scott Co., IA, arriving at the port of New Orleans, LA on 27 June 1847. Do you have an interest in this family or know someone who does? Thanks! The family consisted of: Mother; Sophia Dorothea (LANGHOF) age 44, she was the daughter of Marie (LUETGEN) and Johann LANGHOF. Father; Hinrich "Henry" Christian Friedrich BLOCKER, age 42, Farmer, he was the son of Magdelina Catharina (RAMBOW) and Christian BLOCKER. They were accompanied by their six sons and apparently a Blocker relative, C. H. Blocker age 37, Shoemaker. On the passenger list were also listed six children which I am assuming were their sons! Christian age 22; Heinrich "Henry" Fredrich age 18; Claus "Nicholas" age 15 (born 25 Mar. 1832); Asmus age 12 (born 30 July 1835); Jorgen "Jurgen/George" Hinrich age 7 (born 22 July 1841); Johann "John" age 4; and Hans Christian age 1 Sincerely, Martha D.
