Dear Listers, Please do not buy the Genealogy book about Schwabstedt, because you can order it on microfilm from the Family History Library in Salt Lake. Then, you can search it at a branch library near you. If I remember correctly, you need to pay attention to patronymic surname changes. I helped a woman research it several years ago. In fact, we started research in Husum, but we soon discovered that we should be searching parishes in Kreis Husum and not the city of Husum. I was happy that we did search Husum first though, because I found one of the missing brothers to my Justus KALKBRENNER of Heide. I looked up Sipsdorf in Meyer's Gazetteer and it said to look under Luebbersdorf. Both these localities are in Kreis Oldenburg. Hopefully, this will be of some help to you. As for the listers interested in FRAHM in Meggersdorf, my ancestress Christina FRAHM was born in Meggersdorf about 1696. Her father was Hinrich FRAHM of Meggersdorf, whom I think was buried on 21 Aug 1733 in Berghusen. The Meggersdorf records were housed in the parish of Berghusen. The Family History Library has Berghusen on microfilm, but there are gaps (Luecke) for some of the years during the 1700's. Please do not write to me asking for me to search these records during the 1800's, but write to the pastor in Berghusen. The FHL only has films for the 1700's. Also, I cannot take time to research your family from Germany before 1850, when the Hamburg Passenger Lists begin and the GERMANS TO AMERICA volumes begin. I have only a little time to help you, because I am researching my own family, my husband's and a few clients only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday due to health reasons. Karla Nurnberg P.S. I am happy to help, when I can. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Shopping - with improved product search
