I am researching the NAVE/NAEHWE/NEIVE surname. My great-great-grandfather, Hans Heinrich Nave, came to America in 1852 or 1853 with his parents and 5 siblings, through New Orleans and up the Mississippi River to Davenport, Iowa, and then across the river to settle in Moline, Illinois. I am trying to find the town where Hans was born - and also am trying to find his father's name. Unfortunately his father died of illness on the trip up the Mississippi. Hans' mother's name was Christina (maiden name unknown). Is anyone researching this surname?
